Meditation is a simple, yet profoundly life enhancing practice. Meditation seeks to calm the unruly mind, often described as wild, run-away horses pulling the chariot behind them. Although challenging, taking hold of the reins need not be an esoteric practice. Simply observing and returning to the breath, is a great place to start. This trains the mind to focus and relax, calming the entire system. With patience, the benefits of meditation are exponential. As our practice unfolds and informs our lives, we become more adept at handling stress and experience an underlying sense of connectedness and well-being. Our meditation practice not only becomes a technology to relieve stress but also a path towards experiencing one’s true nature. This return to center through a simple, daily practice can be an essential tool for navigating our lives in todays world.

Alison initially learnt Transcendental Meditation when she was 14. Since then she has experienced different methodologies but keeps coming back to the basics as a daily practice. She offers private and group instruction in breathwork (pranayam) and beginning meditation skills as well as Chakras for Health, below.

Chakras for Health, is a body-centered meditation specifically designed to create vitality throughout your entire Being. Chakras are often described as energy centers located in the body corresponding to the endocrine system. This potent and transformational practice utilizes seed sounds (mantras) to balance and activate each center.
